Self-alignment effect
Phenomenon in which an SMC (surface mounted chip) is realigned during reflow soldering by the surface tension of the molten solder so that it is exactly in the middle of the soldering surface. This effect can compensate for slight shifts of the components during the assembly process. See also Surface tension. |
