    Sublimation

Transition of a solid body in to gaseous state and vice versa, without first turning into liquid. Among others, sulfur sublimes when heated. Examples for sublimation at room temperature and normal pressure: camphor, iodine and CO2 (dry ice). Since sublimation is an endothermic reaction, dry ice is used for cooling solder paste in storage and transport, containing chemical reactions that take place at room temperature.
