Soldering terminology

Synonymous with soldering grease (cream solder). The term solder paste is most commonly used in the USA while soldering grease is preferred in Japan and Europe. Solder paste consists of solder powder and flux which are thoroughly mixed together and used for surface mounting of components used on circuit boards. Screen printing is the most frequently used method for applying the solder paste.
