Self-fluxing brazing
Brazing alloys which contain a reducing agent and therefore have the effects of a fluxing agent during soldering. In copper-phosphorus brazing alloys (5-7 % P, residue: Cu), the phosphorus acts as deoxidizer. In soldering, it reduces the copper oxide and escapes as gaseous phosphorus pentoxide ( P2 O5 ) in the atmosphere. |
